What I Have Acheived
Qualifications
- Anti-Terrorism Tactical Watch Officer (ATTWO):
One of the highest qualifications that can be obtained in my vocation. I was assigned to this position in January of 2022, below is a description of the duties assigned to the ATTWO for Naval Base San Diego:
“The ATTWO functions as the NBSD Security Officer’s (SECO) liaison to the Base Operation Center (BOC) responsible for briefing the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Command Duty Officer and Base Watch Captain (BWC) on all security and Antiterrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) incidents. ATTWO liaises with waterfront afloat units on ATFP matters as required to ensure unity of effort in an all-hazards approach that allows the Security Department to respond effectively to the spectrum of threats; both man caused and natural. The ATTWO must have an up-to-date working knowledge of all pertinent instructions, regulations, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), post orders, Pre-Planned Responses (PPR), Incident Response Plans (IRP) and Security Officer (SECO) Interim Directives (SID).”
The responsibility of an ATTWO is immense. On a daily basis I am responsible for the safety and coordination of personnel and ships during routine and emergency situations as they relate to ATFP policies and procedures.

- Anti-Terrorism Specialist:
While stationed in Guantanamo Bay (GTMO) Cuba, I was given the opportunity to work as an Anti-Terrorism (AT) Specialist. My duties covered a wide array of responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Random Anti-Terrorism Measure (RAM) program coordinator – Wrote and implemented a new RAM program and matrix for GTMO and ten of it’s tenant commands.
Background Investigator – Completed more than 6,000 background investigations on personnel attempting to gain access to the installation.
Physical Security – Reviewed, augmented and audited the physical security of buildings and mission essential vulnerable assets throughout GTMO.

- Field Training Officer:
Given the responsibility to train new patrol officers and qualify them to the standards expected of professional law enforcement personnel. Covering topics such as field sobriety testing, searches, criminal law, radar enforcement training, emergency medical response, and threat response.
Accomplishments
- Meritorious Advancements:
Due to my committment I have been promoted in rank twice for my actions in the Navy. The most recent advancement was a result of my performance in GTMO. I re-wrote the command RAM program, ensuring all DOD directives and instructions were implemented correctly. This job is usually under the purvue of the Anti-Terrorism Officer, however I initiated the change and headed the project. As a result I was advanced to the rank equivalent of sergeant.

- Assigned to protect the Secretary of Defence:
I was given the honor and responsibility to escort, protect and plan the safety for one of our nations highest held office positions. The 26th United States Secretary of Defense, James Norman Mattis was my task and priority during his assignment in GTMO. I was soley responsible for deterence and threat interdiction while assigned to his protection.

- Other notable acheivements:
Given patrolman of the month twice while still acting as a police officer earlier in my career.
Trained and qualified over 30 patrol officers as a Field Training Officer.
I have assisted in saving many lives throughout my career, either directly or indirectly. I do not think of this as an acheivement but an honor.
